It's been a while!

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I posted anything. I guess that's what happens when there's a big life change going on. I'm back to work this week after over 5 years off on sick leave. It's an adjustment but I'm looking forward to being a working girl again! Today I made my Goddaughter's birthday card for her upcoming birthday. Hope she likes it!

Let's celebrate!

Hello Everyone,

It's been too long since my last post. I've been busy but the invitations are done, mailed and received!

I've had great feedback so I guess everyone really likes them. More importantly my sister-in-law and brother-in-law love them. As she said, who would have thought that her maid-of-honor would one day be making the invitations for her 25th wedding anniversary! It's worth celebrating!

Busy, Busy!

I've been neglectful about my blogging lately but I have a good excuse! I've been working on an order for a 25th wedding anniversary. Between samples, meetings with the client and sourcing, I've been a little busy! Now we've settled on a design and it's creating time. I'll post a photo soon!

Starting Young

Hello Everyone,

Today I'm sharing a layout I created featuring a photo of my niece, Kayla. She was around 3 years old in this photo taken one afternoon when I was babysitting her. She liked my mop because liquid would squirt out, so I let her play with it a little. I took the picture to show her mom that she was a great little helper! Sometimes, it's the little moments that make the best memories.

Recycled Jars

Hello Everyone,

I haven't done much crafting lately--I'm still trying to get over whatever bug has been affecting me for the last couple of weeks. I did finally recycle the small jars from Starbucks cold coffees. I removed the stickers and printing and I painted the lids in colours that will hopefully co-ordinate with my future craft room. These are great small jars to store any small crafting items. I can't wait to have my craft room so I can display them!

Crop Day

Hello Everyone,

I'm feeling better today (thank God!) and I'm off to Crop Day soon. I can't wait! We had so much fun the last time and I'm sure it won't be any different today. I'll be posting some pictures soon!

Ginger Ale

Hello Everyone,

Today, I've created a card for l'Art du Scrapbooking's weekly challenge. The challenge was to create a card using a colour palette based on a drink. I've made mine based on one of my favourite drinks, Ginger Ale. So my card is predominately gold, not always an easy colour to work with.  While I'm sitting here drinking my big glass of Ginger Ale, I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

New Camera

Hello Everyone,

I haven't had much time to craft lately. It's hard to do when everyone is around and there are flowers to  plant and outdoor clean-up. I did get myself a new camera so I can take better photos of my projects and maybe start videotaping some things to post on this blog.

Just Married

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a great Provincial Holiday & are not too upset about Boston's loss last night!

Today, I'm sharing a layout I created for Canadian Scrapbooker's June Sketchy Challenge. It features a wedding of photo my cousin taken 15 years ago. Hello Everyone!

Happy St. Jean Baptiste to all my fellow Quebecers! I hope everyone has a great Provincial Holiday & enjoys the great weather.

I'm off to my sister-in-law's 40th birthday party. It should be lots of fun--food, drinks & a beautiful day.

I'm posting a photo off the card I made for my niece who will be at the party today. It's her 15th birthday on Friday but I won't be seeing her since she'll be in Italy along with 10 members of our immediately family. Wish I was going!

New Discovery

Hello Everyone,

Today, I visited a scrapbook store not too far from where I live that I did not know existed. It's called Art Du Scrapbooking. I first found out about it on Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine's blog, which has a contest currently going on featuring products supplied by this retailer.

 It's a wonderful store full of everything needed for paper projects. Also available are items for jewellery-making. The selection is great, the prices are comparable, the staff friendly and knowledgable. I bought a few things but really had to hold myself back from going crazy. I'll definitely be going back soon and will be recommending it to my friends.

While I'm here, let me show you the Baptism card I created for the celebration I'll be attending tomorrow. I love girly things!

50th Anniversary

I've created a layout featuring a photo taken at my in-laws 50th anniversary. It's in my favourite style--vintage/shabby chic. I've used a pretty shaped paper from KaiserCraft's Porcelain Rose collection.

Family BBQ

Hello Everyone,

I haven't done much crafting in last few days because I've been getting ready for Sunday's Family BBQ. Though I'm used to receiving large groups of family & friends for different occasions, it's always a lot of running around & preparation. I like to decorate & set a pretty table. It gives me great pleasure to host a fun party full of food & drink, surrounded by prettiness!

Meanwhile, I'm posting a photo of a vertical layout that I created for a crop challenge. It was interesting to try something different. It features some fun photos taken at our 15th anniversary--can you guess the theme?

Hello Everyone,

I've completed my banner--Yeah! I'm relieved to have it done & now I can start concentrating on all the details for next week's family bbq. I hope the weather cooperates so we can have everything outside but if not, our new extension will do nicely. I've put up the banner inside for now but I'm hoping to be able to put it outside for the bbq. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Black & White

Hello Everyone,

Today was a prep day. I got started on the 'Welcome Banner' that I want to make for next week's family bbq. I did all the colour co-ordinating & cutting so that hopefully tomorrow I can finish decorating  

& putting everything together. In the meantime, I'm posting a layout that I created for a black & white challenge during the last crop I attended. It features a picture of my younger daughter when she was around 12 years old. She really dislikes how she looks in this photo but I think she looks quite pretty & I'm happy with how the layout turned out.

Happy Birthday Cassandra!

Hello Everyone,

Today I made a birthday card for my niece, Cassandra. Her birthday is on Monday, June 10, but I always make my cards in time to mail them. I think there's nothing more exciting about receiving a pretty envelope with an even prettier card addressed to you on your special day. Sometimes the mail doesn't co-operate and the card gets there a day before or a day after but I know that the recipients

are grateful no matter what. This is my main reason for creating my cards--to give them & make someone feel special.

Grandparents

Hello Everyone,

Today, I'm posting a layout featuring a photo of my in-laws surrounded by all their grandchildren. This was taken almost two years ago at my in-laws' 50th anniversary. It's difficult now to catch all the grandkids together since several are grown & have their own schedules. Having everyone there was great for my in-laws & this photo is a wonderful souvenir.

I used a page from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection. The design is so pretty, featuring birds & nests, birdcages & keys. I thought this represented family very well, creating a home & caring for your family. I think my layout is a great souvenir of a special day.
